Cosplay hair - 2016-22 Elven nature shoots

Another Elven cosplay post (usually a Rivendell OC, but could also be Arwen), containing mainly lots of pics with length shots and circlets 😄🍃✨. There are two sets of pics of the same cosplay from two different nature shots, one from 2016 (with knee length hair, in a bit of a worse condition hemline-wise) and a more recent one from June 2022 (a bit past fingertip length, shortly after a seasonal trim):

-Also, the first pics from the 2016 pics include a length shortening half-updo which was originally a seashell bun, and it also looks quite nice in Elven cosplay:

2019 hair - Paranda French braid

I've been wearing more French braids recently, and I had missed how comfy they are :)! So here's a paranda French braid with a flexi 8 from an August outing:

Cosplay hair: LĂșthien variation (September 2018)

Ted Nasmith-inspired 🍃☄️LĂșthien TinĂșviel cosplay ☄️🍃 variation this past September, featuring fingertip+ length shots and hair pics!

It seems that my dark auburn hair likes to get *really* red in the afternoon sunlight, and I’m 100% OK with that 👌💙, even though it’s way redder than it should be for LĂșthien, but ah well xD

Length hairstory - 2012 and fingertip

You can find an abridged version of my hair journey from 2010 in the 'My hairstory' page. This is the third in a series of individual posts that's basically about a bit more detail about my hair growing over the years, plus a pic spam of length shots xD

Previous post: 2011 hair (classic length).

2012 was the year I reached fingertip (in between classic and mid-thigh, it's the length where you stretch your arm straight at the side and your hair reaches the tip of your fingers):

I regained a bit more thickness during this year, although I still wanted to thicken up the hemline (that hasn't really changed throughout the years, really, I'm always wanting a thicker hemline :S xDD). But overall this was a pretty good year hairwise - I'm actually back at fingertip now, after the big trim a couple of months ago from knee, and I'm looking at the 2011-12 pics for inspiration xD Hoping to start experimenting more with texture and styles now that I'm more comfortable with how the hemline is looking :)

But let's proceed with the 2012 pic spam xD (also featuring the way auburn hair changes hue with the lighting xD):
  • February:
  •  March: Length shots (plus heatless bun waves) from a test for a show organized by my Irish group for Saint Patrick's Day (I reenacted an Irish Queen of the Sidhe from the story of OisĂn and Niamh). One of my favourite hair days, both regarding length shots, and bunwaves (original updo was a seashell bun) ^^
  • April: Finally reached fingertip! (and have a blurry pic to prove it xDD)

  • May: Two length shots featuring heatless texture experiments (braidwaves+bandanna curls/rag curls in the ends):

  • June: Just a length pic -

  • July: July 2012 has some of my favourite length shot hair pics :) Also involving my (Elven) ranger cosplay WIP with that leather jerkin :D xD
One of my favourite hair pics ^^

Next stop - 2013 and mid-thigh!

January 2014 length update

The exam period is finished for me, so back to blogging about hair!

I wanted to do a length update post, so yesterday I took a couple of length shots in a break from revising for my last exam. Post-wash hair is usually the best pic-friendly hair for me, no clumpy ends, so it's when I usually take all the length shots to follow my growing progress (and comfy, baggy house-clothes star in most of them, but the real focus is the hair, so no matter...:) ).

My goal is knee-length...and I'm getting close! *squeee* I hadn't taken any length shot since October, or measured the length, and wow, it's already past mid-thigh!
January 27 length shot. Speaking of other things, I love how red the ends came out in the pic!
   Comparisons:

-Last year and now: A bit past fingertip vs mid-thigh+

-Last year, last October and now: A bit past fingertip, mid-thigh, mid-thigh+
I've been maintaining first at fingertip, then at mid-thigh, for a year or so, in order to thicken up my hemline a bit and get rid of the split ends that keep on appearing (the cons of fine delicate hair...:( ), but now I'm torn between maintaining here or growing to knee and then maintaining - because it's so close already! (there's a lot of cons about fine hair, but at least mine does grow fast, even at these lengths).

So I'll probably do a micro-trim on February, then keep on growing to knee. And then, I'll probably maintain there for a while, and, depending on the state of my ends, I'll maybe trim back to mid-thigh or even fingertip to get rid of most of the damage  (I'm still getting rid of the damage from the some years of neglect with 3-4 months apart trims). And then maybe I'll grow to knee-length again...or I'll stay at mid-thigh. Well, who knows :).
