January 2014 length update

The exam period is finished for me, so back to blogging about hair!

I wanted to do a length update post, so yesterday I took a couple of length shots in a break from revising for my last exam. Post-wash hair is usually the best pic-friendly hair for me, no clumpy ends, so it's when I usually take all the length shots to follow my growing progress (and comfy, baggy house-clothes star in most of them, but the real focus is the hair, so no matter...:) ).

My goal is knee-length...and I'm getting close! *squeee* I hadn't taken any length shot since October, or measured the length, and wow, it's already past mid-thigh!
January 27 length shot. Speaking of other things, I love how red the ends came out in the pic!
   Comparisons:

-Last year and now: A bit past fingertip vs mid-thigh+

-Last year, last October and now: A bit past fingertip, mid-thigh, mid-thigh+
I've been maintaining first at fingertip, then at mid-thigh, for a year or so, in order to thicken up my hemline a bit and get rid of the split ends that keep on appearing (the cons of fine delicate hair...:( ), but now I'm torn between maintaining here or growing to knee and then maintaining - because it's so close already! (there's a lot of cons about fine hair, but at least mine does grow fast, even at these lengths).

So I'll probably do a micro-trim on February, then keep on growing to knee. And then, I'll probably maintain there for a while, and, depending on the state of my ends, I'll maybe trim back to mid-thigh or even fingertip to get rid of most of the damage  (I'm still getting rid of the damage from the some years of neglect with 3-4 months apart trims). And then maybe I'll grow to knee-length again...or I'll stay at mid-thigh. Well, who knows :).

  2. Congratulations dear! I'm kind of at the same point as you....I think you are a bit ahead of me - it looks longer, anyways, I recommend just growing it to knee, and then trim it (while S&D frequently because of the splits you complain about. ;)

    1. Thank you ^^! I think I'll do that :) The bad thing about S&D, I'm so lazy about it :D! Cons of fine hair, there are too many hairs! I've S&D'd a bit this morning (after a looong while of procrastinating), but I'll be needing a lot more sessions to get rid of all the splits!

  3. I'm unsure if I want knee or not, because it seems my scalp is more sensitive the more my hair grows...do you feel something like this too?

Jana is just a folkloric fairy/sorceress of medieval ages. ;) I want to have a fairy garden! :P
Ah, your hair is longer indeed than mine...:D I won't cut it again in order to catch up with you!

    1. Oooooh, your hair looks gorgeous!! <3 Mine is a little bit longer, but not by much :)
My hair isn't that heavy, so the length doesn't really bother me that much, I haven't noticed a lot of difference between tailbone and mid-thigh, not even in updos...Well, you could always grow to knee 'to catch up with me' :D, and then cut it a little shorter, if it bothers you. I'm still unsure whether to trim back to mid-thigh, or fingertip, after I get to knee. Don't know how I'll handle the knee length...
      That's a lovely name :)

I haven't been at LHC for a whole month! Now my exams are finished I'll have to catch up on everything there :)!

  4. Thank you! :D I cannot seem to show how shiny it is in pictures, don't know why, unless when I'm outside...
Yes, I will catch up with you, just for fun! :D

I have noticed you didn't, but things have been slowish in there I think.

  5. Nice blog and hair! Thanks for sharing your routine, styles and progress. I see your goal is knee like mine was. I really like knee length and now that I grew longer (floor) I want to return to knee. Hope you reach knee and share your thoughts and experiences about it. JJJLONGHAIR
